Everyone has worth as a human being.
When it comes to dating, though, a person’s worth is nuanced.
You shouldn’t aim to date someone who is toxic and thereby riddled with issues of character and lifestyle.
Sadly, when you have a nurturing personality, it’s easy to gravitate towards a man who is flawed in this capacity, believing you can fix him.
This is a trap so many women fall into when they are looking to date a guy.
You see someone who is the embodiment of chaos and think that all it will require is for you to date him and fix where he is deficient.
This usually doesn’t work out.
A man who has a toxic personality is exactly that.
It is rare to change such a man.
The sad part is that you keep dating this man believing you can change him, but all he does is push back harder.
Before you know it, you have been in a tumultuous relationship with a toxic man who is incapable of change for years.
Years of your precious and finite life wasted.
No one is worth this kind of time.
Not to mention, if you were to somehow fix this man, it wouldn’t be long before the boredom sets in and you end the relationship.
This means that even if you are in a scenario where you were successful in fixing him, you will get bored once that project is complete and will dump him.
This is why it’s critical you don’t have a mindset of fixing someone when you are looking to date.
It’s also important that you don’t get too caught up in what you believe your value to be.
In this day and age with the powerful influence of social media, you are susceptible to falling into the trap of thinking that you are the best thing ever.
Your social media alone has a bevy of followers, and when you post a photo, it receives a bazillion likes.
In your day-to-day life, you have reached a lofty professional position and constantly receive accolades from coworkers.
Your education was exemplary, and you have a respectable degree, maybe more than one.
Also, you live in an upscale neighborhood and are part of the local upscale county club.
Basically, you have achieved educational, professional, and social success.
With all of this, it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking too highly of yourself.
When this happens, you become delusional.
You come across men in your day-to-day life who match you in several aspects, but you are so delusional about your value that you think you are better than them.
Several of these men show a romantic interest in you, and you shoo them off because you deem them beneath you and not worthy of dating you.
Mistake.
When you develop a bloated idea of who you are and what your value is, you are likely turning down men who are totally great matches for you.
This behavior is futile, as it leads to you wasting time for several years, losing out on eligible men who ultimately find their person, while you get older and eventually become frustrated with your perennial singlehood.
By this point, you have lost out on these eligible men so that all you have left are the broken ones who have been through multiple divorces and are damaged from said experience.
These broken people are certainly not worthy of dating either.
Making the right choices while you are at your peak of attractiveness in who you date saves you from ever reaching this point.
