There is a reason why your instincts are on red alert.
A feeling within you persists, compelling you to believe that you are a side piece.
He declared you his girlfriend a while ago, and you believed him.
After all, he courted you properly, as he paid for dates and ensured you always got home safe by either texting and asking whether you got home okay or driving you back home himself.
There was consistency in how often he called and texted you, asking in-depth questions about you and sharing personal information about him too.
He seemed totally sincere about his intentions with you throughout the courting stage.
When you became exclusive after a fun and engaging period of courting, you were sure he was the man you wanted to spend the rest of your life with.
The first few months were bliss.
He met your family, and they fell in love with him.
Your father and mother couldn’t get enough of him from the first time they laid eyes on him and were subjected to his charm.
In addition, your friends loved him too.
Back then, his kindness and warmth were infectious, and everyone you care about who met him in any capacity fell in love with him.
Yet, in the last few weeks, you have felt something amiss within you.
You have learned about another woman he is acquainted with, or you are suspicious of one.
If she does exist, he hasn’t mentioned her to you.
Once this suspicion entered your consciousness, you have looked back on what has been happening in the relationship of late.
He hasn’t taken you out on a date in a while.
On top of this, he isn’t calling and texting you as often as he once did.
When you initiate a call or text message to him, it takes much longer than it used to for him to reply.
Finally, there is the issue of physical intimacy.
He is clearly not as into it as he once was, finding excuses to avoid it on some occasions.
When he does do it with you, he isn’t as patient or attentive.
It just seems like he wants to do it and get it over with.
Although these are worrisome signs, they aren’t a guarantee that there is another woman in his life and you are a side piece.
Sometimes, when a man isn’t behaving as attentively and affectionately as he once was, it signals dissatisfaction within the relationship based on certain problematic issues that are being ignored.
Has he complained to you about anything to do with the relationship in recent months?
It’s possible he has made this complaint about you a few times, but nothing was done on your end to resolve the issue.
This lack of concern on your end could have frustrated him over the last few months, pushing him towards the behavior he has been exhibiting of late.
This is where you notice the lack of dates, communication, affection, sex, etc.
Resolving the complaint should lead to a change of your boyfriend’s behavior and a reversal of said behavior.
That said, if everything has been going just fine without any complaining about anything, and yet he is behaving in this way, there is more of a case to be made that you are a side piece.
The key is in whether he keeps lying to you or giving you the impression he was somewhere he actually wasn’t.
For instance, he tells you that he is working overtime when in fact you later find out that he wasn’t at work during those overtime hours.
He is supposed to be at the gym as he usually is after regular work hours, but you later find out that he hasn’t been to the gym in several weeks.
He is supposed to be with his friends on certain days during the week to play basketball, but you later find out that he hasn’t been to those practices and games in weeks.
The deception is deafening.
Unfortunately, he was being deceptive in pretending to be where he wasn’t.
It’s unlikely he would be anywhere else during his absence but with the other woman.
Sadly, she is the one who is receiving a significant amount of the romantic dates, communication, affection, and sex that your relationship has been lacking of late.
