Everyone is naturally wired to go at a pace they are accustomed to during courtship.
As far as he is concerned, he has learned enough about you to want to date you.
As long as he has already taken you out on several dates and engaged in several conversations with you, he is aware that you already check a lot of the boxes he wants in a potential mate.
It usually takes roughly 1-3 months for people who are actively courting each other to get into a full-fledged relationship.
If he has been courting you within this timespan, it makes sense for him to want to date you at this point.
Since you are worried that he is moving too fast in wanting to date you, you should ask yourself why you think this could be a red flag.
It’s possible that you are more used to dating men who took a longer period of time to court you than is the norm of 1-3 months.
A longer period of courtship is what you are used to and where you are most comfortable.
To this extent, you experience a sense of trepidation when a new guy in your life is seemingly moving too fast to make you his girlfriend.
This is your natural instinct making you circumspect of someone who is doing something out of what is the norm for you.
That said, the idea that this is a red flag doesn’t always have to do with a person being used to a longer time frame of courtship.
Sometimes, it has to do with someone who is still dealing with past trauma from a previous relationship.
It’s possible that you haven’t allowed yourself to become emotionally invested in this guy because there has been a part of you that has been closed off.
When there is a part of you that is closed off, it will feel as though a guy who is moving at a relatively normal pace in courting you is moving too fast in wanting to date you exclusively.
Since you are still dealing with past trauma, with a part of you closed off, there is a natural inclination to protect yourself emotionally.
This is where you want to protect yourself from experiencing the same trauma that you did from a previous relationship.
As a result, the moment it seems like he is moving too fast for you, you instantly see that as a red flag.
But it might not be.
In a situation where he is someone who has been emotionally open throughout the time that he has been courting you, he would naturally fall for you within a timespan of 1-3 months.
In most circumstances, this is normal, but to you, it’s a red flag.
Be honest with yourself and figure out whether you have been somewhat emotionally closed off to this guy due to past trauma from a previous relationship.
If this is the case, you would be wasting this guy’s time and your own in continuing to court each other.
Instead of being courted, you should be doing the work on healing and recovering from the trauma.
Only after doing this will you be at a place where you are fully emotionally available and thereby ready to date someone who has the potential to become a future boyfriend.
