The evolution of modern-day society has led to a different set of expectations in gender roles.

Women are no longer expected to be the ones to be the good cooks in a relationship.

In fact, it wouldn’t be unusual for a man to be the one with the superior culinary skills in a relationship.

Men who are raised in modern-day society aren’t expecting a future female partner to be a good cook.

For some, it is a plus.

But it isn’t a deal-breaker.

Whether she is a good cook isn’t the first requirement he has on his list for the qualities he is looking for in a future mate.

For men, her loyalty and respect weigh more heavily on what he is looking for in a future mate.

If you aren’t a good cook, no need to worry about causing a guy to become less interested in you.

It’s highly unlikely that a man in modern-day society requires a potential female partner to be a good cook as a top requirement within the qualities he is looking for.

As long as you don’t overinflate your cooking skills, you have nothing to worry about.

Overinflating your cooking skills sets expectations.

Should he later discover that you were exaggerating your cooking prowess, that would be off-putting, but not necessarily because you ended up not being a good cook.

More so due to you lying to him about your cooking skills.

He would worry that if you were capable of lying about your cooking prowess, what else would you be capable of lying about?

It makes it harder for him to believe what you tell him in future conversations he has with you.

By embellishing, you have created a doubt in his mind in regards to whether he can trust you.

There is absolutely no need to put him in this position by lying about your cooking prowess.

If he brings up the topic of whether you are a good cook in a conversation with you, be honest and truthful in telling him you aren’t.

In modern-day society, a man won’t write you off solely based on whether you are a good cook.

Even a guy who is more traditional in his approach to dating won’t necessarily write you off if he finds out you aren’t a good cook.

What he would want is that you contribute.

Therefore, if he does the cooking in the relationship, you are helping out in other areas such as doing the grocery shopping, setting up the table, removing the dishes, or washing them.

In modern-day society, relationships are regarded as partnerships.

Partners assist each other.

They play to their strengths.

Where one is strongest, the other assists, and vice versa.

This is what he would expect from you.

He becomes less interested in you, not based on your ability to cook a delicious dish but on your willingness to assist.

If you let him do all the cooking along with everything else that comes with it, such as the grocery shopping, setting up the table, and dishwashing, this is where you run a huge risk of turning him off.

Even if you are at his home and he is cooking for you, he expects you to be an assist.

This means that you have already been considerate enough to do the grocery shopping beforehand, or you are setting the table up and washing the dishes after enjoying the delicious meal he cooked.

By being a good and considerate assist, you impress him.

It gives him a preview of what you would be like as a potential partner in a long-term relationship.

Showing your ability to assist him in the area of cooking gives him the impression that you would be a valuable asset in other areas as well.

This means he doesn’t have to worry about being the only one in a potential relationship who does most of the work or heavy-lifting.

Consistently giving him this impression makes it that much more likely you’ll become his future girlfriend.
