Meeting this person excites you but equally makes you nervous.
On the one hand, you can’t wait to see him, given how attracted to him you are.
But at the same time, you are worried about how the first date will go.
This is the first thing you shouldn’t do.
Worrying about a first date.
When you let this worry fester in your mind, it affects how you behave on the date.
Basically, you arrive at the first date filled with nerves.
This affects how you greet and chat with him during the date.
You will be far too self-conscious of how well or how poorly you come off to him, which results in you stiffening up during the date.
He misinterprets this behavior as a sign that you aren’t into him.
Which negatively affects how he behaves for the rest of the date, compelling him to become stiff, as he subconsciously mimicks your body language.
This aside, the common-sense ethics of what not to do on a first date are pertinent.
Needless to say, you should not look unkempt, arrive late, order the entire menu or the most expensive dish on it, eat with your mouth open, take phone calls or respond to text messages, be rude to the waiting staff, go to the bathroom incessantly, cut the date prematurely short, and forget to say thank you after he has paid for the date.
These are all common sense tips but are absolutely critical on a first date.
Beyond this, there are a few other areas of importance that are easily overlooked but should be taken seriously, as not doing so could lead to you leaving a bad impression on your date.
A cultured man who is meeting you on a first date naturally expects you to adhere to the behaviors that correlate with common sense ethics.
This gets you a good grade on the first date and encourages him to ask you out on a second.
Nonetheless, this good grade can be jeopardized if you do these easily overlooked behaviors that so many people either forget about or aren’t aware of.
Do not primarily talk about yourself.
This is so readily missed, especially when he shows such an interest in your life and asks you good questions.
When this happens, it is so natural to get lost talking about yourself.
But you mustn’t fall into this trap.
Even when it seems like he is so interested in what you have to say about your life, and you have a lot to say about said life, be sure to ask him questions about himself too.
Show just as much interest in him as he is showing in you by asking him questions with follow-ups.
This shows him that you are genuinely interested in him, and that is a massive turn-on to any man.
Additionally, do not complain about little things.
This can totally happen without you realizing what you are doing.
You make a snide comment or quip about the restaurant’s furniture, silverware, tablecloth, lighting, curtains, food layout, carpet, etc.
All of this seems innocuous because they are small quips, but they add up after a while.
Even though all of your snide comments were directed at something to do with the restaurant you are on a date with him at, he gets the impression that you are extremely high maintenance and the type of person that would be impossible to please.
This is a tremendous turnoff to a man.
Finally, do not take photos of your food to use for a social media post.
People are so used to blending social media into their day-to-day life that they tend to not realize how off-putting this behavior is to a man who is going to be paying for a date with them.
A man sees this as a sign that the woman only cared about taking advantage of him for the sake of a free meal and a picture opportunity for her social media followers.
That leaves him with a bad taste in his mouth.
These misbehaviors are frequently overlooked by women, and they are so relevant because they have the potential to completely erase all of the goodwill you had already established by not violating the other common-sense ethics.
All it takes is for you to do any one of typically overlooked misbehaviors for a guy to question whether he should ask you out on a second date.
