The foodie call has existed since the dawn of civilization in some capacity, but it has only become a major phenomenon with the explosion of the internet.

With the explosion of the internet, the concomitant explosion of foodie calls was inevitable.

Thanks to the widespread reach of social media and online dating sites, women have a plethora of dating options.

Although foodie calls existed before the dawn of the internet, it was less prevalent.

Most women met their partners through friends, family, work, church, etc.

These men, even if she didn’t know them personally, were still connected to her through said friends, family, work, church, etc.

Going out on a foodie call date with a guy with this sort of connection to her wouldn’t be looked at so kindly from the people that connected the two of them.

She didn’t want to look like the bad guy to friends or family who introduced her to her date.

She was compelled to take the date seriously.

With the advent of anonymity through the internet, so much of that has changed.

Her message inbox on dating apps are filled with men vying for her attention.

In an environment like this, it isn’t shocking that a good number of women have taken to going on foodie calls.

It is so much easier to go on a foodie call with a thirsty stranger she met on social media or a dating app, than to do this to a guy she was introduced to through friends, family, work, church, etc.

There is an anonymity or impartiality that comes with meeting men on the internet.

The emotional connection we feel when talking to someone online is nowhere near as powerful as it is when we are talking to someone we met in real life through people we care about.

Although foodie calls have existed in some capacity in the past, with the advent of the internet, it has completely exploded and shows no signs of slowing down.

It’s human nature to take advantage of something that is in such abundance.

As a man who is primarily meeting women on social media or online dating apps, there is almost no escaping the reality that you could one day be a victim of a woman who has chosen to accept your offer for a dinner date as her foodie call.

It comes with the territory.

It does you no good to get mad at this phenomenon.
