Guys prefer looks in who they want to date.
He is prepared to suffer through a girl with a bad personality, as long as she is hot.
He is primarily driven by his carnal desires when he is looking to date a woman.
A woman that is good-looking is what excites those carnal desires.
This makes him drawn to her and prepared to endure whatever poor personality traits she possesses.
Guys are fundamentally visual when they are selecting a mate.
To them, a good-looking woman represents so much of what he is biologically wired to respond to.
She reflects youth and fertility.
That makes him feel that she would produce healthy offspring.
Along with this, having a good-looking woman as his partner elevates his social status.
A man’s social status is important to him.
It is reflective of his success.
A man in society is judged by his achievements in life.
His success is a prominent factor in how he is respected and regarded by society at large and his peers.
Having a beautiful woman by his side is a signal that he is succeeding in life.
This gives him a considerable boost in social status.
The respect and adulation he garners from people at large makes him that much more powerful.
He loves this.
He is prepared to handle a woman with a litany of poor personality traits, if that means he maintains this level of respect and power.
She is clingy, controlling, angry, verbally and physically abusive, vindictive, harsh, volatile, unappreciative, etc.
None of these poor personality traits keep him from choosing to date her, given that her good looks fulfill him visually, physically, and societally.
The problem with this attitude is that her good looks are destined to fade, but her poor personality traits only get worse with age.
As her smooth skin ages into wrinkled skin, her anger issues worsen.
As her full beautiful head of hair thins, the verbal and physical abuse she dishes out towards him becomes exponentially violent.
As her formally strong jawline sags with age, her volatility exacerbates.
As she loses her physical looks, which so happens to be her greatest asset, her personality degenerates significantly.
Being older, she is now set in her ways, which makes it near impossible for her to listen to him when he is trying to get her to correct her behavior.
Unfortunately, plenty of men who choose looks over personality, even when she has a litany of terrible personality traits, end up regretting this decision over time.
He never took into account that good looks fade.
Eventually, he is stuck with a woman who has lost her good looks, but maintains the worse elements of her personality.
These are the relationships that end up being so verbally and physically abusive, the police is perennially called to their home or apartment.
Either this, or there is rampant infidelity.
These are two tremendously unhappy people who are stuck with each other, desperate to escape the never-ending misery, by having physical affairs with people outside of the relationship.
