Why he ask where my boyfriend at

Theres guy who has a child with a girl and they still together but he says he aint sure if he wan marry her cos he doesnt feel shes the one. We been kissing and he was lying next to me then out of the blue he asks where my boyfriend at, though I had told him before I dont have one. So I told him I dont have and he says he asks cos its been long since I told him, so he wan know if I found someone since. I want to know why he asked.
