    Hello,

I have a coworker that I’ve grown quite fond of. We have a lot in common and are around the same age, both single. He sits with me and we talk when working the same shift, he stares at me quite often, and he remembers details from our previous conversations. We are like magnets, always super aware of one another. Today, I asked him to go to a movie with me (we always talk about movies) and he said he had plans for that day. He never said he’d be free to go another day. I hinted that I’d rather not see a horror film alone and he said the movie wasn’t that scary.. did I misinterpret his interest in me?

    Hi Rene,

You may not have misinterpreted his interest in you.

He stares are you often and remembers details from past conversations. That would normally indicate that there is attraction.

However, he didn’t really want to take it beyond that.

Once you asked him to go to the movie, he may have felt that things had gone too far and he had to put a stop to it.

There are some guys who will be attracted to a girl and stare at her and talk to her but have no romantic interest.

This is most likely what happened with him.

It could be because he already has a girlfriend or he isn’t looking to get serious with anyone at this time.
