Lack of manners, sign he is not interested???

Hi,
My bus crush was sat not far from me at the back of the bus and he put his feet up on the opposite seat. Am I right in assuming that he’s not interested, otherwise he would make an effort in appearing well-mannered? Or is it just something guys do to show they’re “cool”?

Whether a guy in the back of a bus puts his feet up on the opposite seat or not doesn’t necessarily indicate romantic interest or a lack thereof.

Yes, some guys show this lack of manners to give the impression that they are cool. However, some guys do it simply out of habit.

Judging whether he is interested in you or not is best obtained by observing a combination of a number of telltale signs such as eye contact/pupil dilation, preening, touch, proximity, fidgeting, posture mimicking, etc.

Try to watch for a consistent combination of these signs whenever you are around him. If they are consistently present, there is a good chance that he is interested in you.

Thanks for the insight Luke. It’s interesting to see it from another perspective, as I tend to want to make a good impression on someone I like, and that includes “good manners”.
I will keep an eye open for the clues you suggested.

He may have a totally different perspective than you do when it comes to manners.

Oftentimes, his manners are determined by his upbringing or even the type of people that he tends to hang out with.
