I have a crush and I want to tell him (read description)

so I am now in 9th grade and I was with this guy in 6th grade (we were babies lol)
I have had a crush on him for about 4 months now. We don’t really talk.I tried sending him a couple of text but he didn’t seem to show interest in the conversation.
The problem is that I have had thoughts of telling him I like him but I don’t know what to do.
The whole ex thing isn’t a problem I just thought I’d mention it.
